One of the more unique communities on Hilton Head Island is Yacht Cove. Located mid-island near Shelter Cove, Yacht Cove is reminiscent of a more traditional neighborhood with houses in closer proximity than in most other area communities. While housing density may be greater here, the overall feeling is one of warmth and friendliness. Clustered within the Yacht Cove community are single-family houses, attractive town homes and apartment villas, each offering separate amenities and greater affordability than in Hilton Head’s gated communities. While each housing development within Yacht Cove is separate, careful planning has enabled them to blend together to convey the look and feel of small town harmony. Yacht Cove also has the advantage of an ideal location, situated near the Self Family Arts Center and the variety of shops and restaurants in Shelter Cove. Residents also have easy access to Highway #278 yet are set back from traffic noise. THE RESIDENTS While it is always difficult to generalize, Yacht Cove residents are often single professionals or newly married. Properties within Yacht Cove make ideal starter homes or investment opportunities. THE NEIGHBORHOOD There are a number of separate developments that exist within Yacht Cove with little or no separation between them. The result is a mixture of housing styles more in keeping with that of a traditional neighborhood. Mulberry Place - A variety of 3 bedroom single-family homes clustered in a neighborhood of short streets and cul de sacs. Brittany Place - An attractive development of 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath town homes with a garage under each unit. A swimming pool is available for residents and guests.
