THE CLUBHOUSE AT BELFAIR

Belfair’s Clubhouse is a 24,000 square complex that includes a Golf Shop, Grill Room, Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms and Lounges, a Golf Library, Carolina Rooms, steams and saunas. A formal and a private dining room are near completion.

THE JIM FEREE GOLF LEARNING CENTER

Enabling players to practice any shot they may face on the course, the Golf Learning Center is a 30 acre state-of-the-art facility with a huge practice tee, a 5000 square foot putting green, practice fairway bunker, learning center with covered & indoor hitting areas, computerized video analysis, a golf library and classroom. Golf Course News has named it "the finest practice facility of any private club in America."

Belfair has been named by Golf Magazine as "one of the top 20 golf communities in America." Links magazine and Golf Week have also sung its praises. Here are the reasons why:

EAST COURSE - This is the first of two courses set in this upscale community and a place where Tom Fazio elevated his already lofty design credentials. The signature effect on this lovely setting is the consistent use of waste bunkers. They are esthetically part of this exacting course but will frustrate the errant golfer. The greens are large but demanding and the third hole, a par 5, is Exhibit A. Regardless of the pin placement, this green will unsettle the most confident putter. The course is cleverly woven around lagoons and marsh that will entice the longer hitter to take chances. But there is little "give" in this championship facility and it has earned its rave reviews. The back nine will reveal the justified homage for this course that will surely age gracefully and fascinate members and guests for years to come.

WEST COURSE - Tom Fazio did not rest on his laurels after dedicating the East course. This adjacent links course takes the player through a barrage of tree-lined fairways, dotted with water, wetlands and a finish that borders Port Royal Sound and gives this dynamic course both its charm and its character. The clever design is dotted with waste areas where the golfer seeks to get an edge on this classy, nationally ranked facility. The closing hole is worthy of the best of the top 50 courses. Members lavish praise on this layout and flock to the first tee to enjoy it. It is safe to say that this new course will only grow in stature and join Fazio’s other classic facilities that have delighted so many golfers for so long.
